Pastor Todd Burkhalter
Todd Burkhalter was born the only child of Ganus and Peggy Burkhalter on April 13, 1972. He grew up in Aliceville, Alabama where he attended First Baptist Church. Having been raised in a Christian home, he came to trust Christ as his Savior during summer Vacation Bible School in 1983. In 1989, during a youth conference at the Ridgecrest Baptist Assembly in North Carolina, he felt the call of God into full time ministry. He returned home and shared this decision with his parents and his church family. During his freshman year at the University of Alabama he was called to his first church as a Minister of Music and Youth. Two years later in 1993, while still a college student, he was called to his first pastorate. Later that same year he maried the former Keria Waldrop. He and Keria have been married sixteen years and have two daughters, Katelyn and Audrey. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Alabama in 1994 and later his Master of Divinity from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2001. He has served as the Pastor of the Coaling Baptist Church since August, 2000.
A Message from Todd…
I have had the privilege of serving as the Pastor of Coaling Baptist Church since August of 2000 and it has truly been a wonderful experience. Throughout the years I have watched God work both in my own life and in the life of the church in dramatic ways. In recent years we have witnessed a tremendous uniting of the church and a spirit of love and community has been keenly felt among the membership. I firmly believe that this spirit will only grow stronger as we continue to focus on the priorities that God has established for us in His Word. With the dawning of a new year I have challenged our church to embrace the mission of personal evangelism with urgency and passion. God has placed our church in the midst of a community filled with great need. So many around us are desperately seeking truth and are hungry for a place to belong. We feel we have that truth and that we are that place. I believe that God is calling us to share the Gospel in an unprecedented way and to open our doors to the lonely and hurting. What we have in our church is too precious to keep to ourselves. We want others to know it and experience it. We desire to reach out and compel others to come and hear the story of Christ. Our goal is simple and yet profound: we want to touch the world one life at a time. That’s what our Savior did when He walked upon this earth and we are seeking to follow His example as we press into the future.
In Christ, Todd Burkhalter
