Prayer Ministry

Prayer Ministry

Dear Church Family,

I am very excited to tell you about a new plan for our spiritual prayer ministry in 2013-14. For some time we have been meeting on Wednesday evenings from 5 – 6 PM. We have enjoyed some powerful seasons of prayer during this time, but we have not experienced large or consistent attendance. I attribute some of this to the time and day of the meetings. My desire, by proposing a new strategy, is to include as many people as possible in our prayer ministry. So, beginning on Sunday morning, September 8th, we will have two hours set aside for prayer. We will open the Adult IV classroom from 8:30-9:30 AM and from 11:00-12:00. Our thought is that this will provide an opportunity for worshipers from both services to have to be involved in the spiritual prayer ministry of our church. Those who worship at 11 AM can come in the prayer room during the slot from 8:30 –9:30 and spend some time in prayer before our Food and Fellowship time and Sunday School. Those who worship at 8:30 AM can stay for a few moments after Sunday School and pray in the 11:00-12:00 time slot. No, you don’t have to pray a whole hour. But I would like everyone to spend some a few meaningful moments in prayer during these two hours. I believe that this new plan will accomplish some very good things. First, we will have more people praying because our greatest attendance is on Sunday mornings and nearly everyone will, at some time, walk by that prayer room. Secondly, we will have people praying for the worship services while they are in progress. And thirdly, with more people praying together I believe that we will see the hand of God work even more mightily in our church and our community. Also, in addition to our two hours of prayer on Sunday mornings, we are going to designate one Thursday evening per month to call the entire church to the altar to pray for the lost, our community and for real REVIVAL in our church and in our nation. We believe that God will hear the prayers of His people and we believe that He will answer. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If My people, which are called by My name will humble themselves and pray…” If My people…will pray. Will you join us in the most important spiritual activity of the church – the ministry of PRAYER!

In the Savior’s Love,
Todd
